Milestone reached – half a million views.

500,000 all time views on lantsandlaminins.com + this is also the already the best year ever with over 150,000 so far in 2024.

I first started this blog 10 years ago as a way to share updates about how our research was progressing and advertise job opportunities. Those updates were mostly read by my family and friends (138 views total for 2014). A few years later Dave Troughton was responsible for most of the traffic to this site as he kept hitting refresh on Leebert’s posts! “traffic is down this week Lee, any ideas?”, “Ah yes, Dave’s on holiday”.

Nowadays it is a bit different. Most of the people visiting the site do so to interact with the learning resources created for courses I teach. I figured a little while back that if something was useful for University of Liverpool students, then likely other people could make use of them too. The first actually visible bar in the graph below is when I posted writing resources created for PGR students (now available in book form). Thereafter, new resources for MRes lab skills and then MBChB genetics have tracked what my Uni has told me to teach! There is likely to be more soon in the cancer area.

This year, visitors to those resources have come from 179 countries with lots of inward referrals from class resources at various unis. All very cool.

I still (perhaps naively) hope that some of the people coming to try a MCQ in prep for an upcoming test will stay and read about some of our research and maybe leave caring a little more about laminins. Maybe one day.

Thank you for your continued support and on to the next milestone.
