Each year, each of the different research institutes at the University of Liverpool host a “Meet the Scientists” day a at Liverpool world museum. Yesterday was the Institute of Ageing and Chronic Disease turn

A group of about 30 of my colleagues and students ran a fun and science filled day for the 1000+ kids and parents who decided to spend a wet Saturday learning cool stuff.

tubes everywhere (just like the vasculature)

My group ran the giant cardio model and taught the kids about diabetic retinopathy and how stents work etc. Little different from our usual UV camera/sunscreen stuff but seemed more appropriate for March.
