Burns Night 2020

Last night we continued our lab tradition of having an evening of haggis, poetry, song and drink to celebrate the life and works of the National poet of Scotland.

Lots of fun, especially hearing the native Scots’ language being delivered in American, Scouse, Spanish, Greek, Mancunian and Preston accents. Here’s a wee flavour to whet your appetite. Good luck understanding anything, Also hang around for JohnJohn’s beautiful singing (sadly I didn’t keep recording, it really was amazing).

Of course, integral to the evening is the food. Ethically sourced free-range haggis, ‘neeps and ‘tatties + loads of other stuff.

And a night wouldn’t be complete with some games… anyone for sweet potato in a box?
